Going Digital

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 18, 2008, 8:29 AM
So, I'm sure as some of you have noticed, I have not posted anything in a long time.
Sadly, the Fractals are going to either stop, or become less and less used.
I have a new door to open, and I'm hoping everyone will support the idea and help me on my journey.

I'm thinking about being a photographer.
I've always thought of that as a possible choice of profession.
So, from now on, I'm going to be posting pictures instead of Fractals, and the actual photographers out there that read this, I would LOVE to hear from you, and I enjoy constructive criticism on new things such as this.
I'd like to be the best that I can be ^.^
My beautiful girlfriend, :iconhellfirequeen: [I also used her as a practice picture-taking-target ], has told me that I have an eye for great photos, which just enhanced my vigor to go out and buy myself a new camera.
I recently purchased a Sony alpha DSLR-A300K 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera.
It's a mouthful, but it was in my budget, and I think it works fantastically.
And I'm sure a lot of the photographers out there gasped and almost had a heart attack when they saw that it was a Sony, and not a Canon or a Nikon. I checked those guys out already, and I would have had to fork out about twice as much as I did for the Sony, to get the same features.
But for Sony being so new to the dSLR market, I was surprised at this guy.
My biggest complaint is really only a small one. The shutter is kind of loud. But, that's it.
I've had other complaints from people getting the flash pointed at them, because it's really bright and sometimes strobes...but it's a flash.
I don't want it to be dim.
So, there. :D

Anyway, that's what I've been up to recently, besides working 9 hours a day. Every day. Except for the weekend. Waking up 4:30 in the morning. Every day.
That's my week. But I do get home about 3:30, and I have the rest of the day to do whatever, so that's nice.

Aaaaand, yeah.
And like I said above, any true photographer that sees my pictures, I would highly value your critique. And to anyone else that sees my pictures, your critique shall not be discarded, I like to hear what you people have to say.
Hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon.
But until then, Tata!

Time to put in my two pennies

I can't friggin believe this whole Orphan Works crap.
I mean, seriously!
They're going to make it so possibly the original artist has to pay for their own work?
That's bullshit!
We, as artists, should not have to worry about our hard work being put out there for profit!
And then the government is going to legalize it?
What the crap!
I'm not even that great or popular of an artist, but I don't want my work stolen!
I mean, it's not even enough to make it so you can't "right-click" on a page.
There are other ways to get the pictures.
The only for sure way to protect us is to stop the people stealing.
They can't just give out a copyright to anyone who makes art, because, it would be the same problem as with the Orphan Works Bill.
I just...ugh, those stupid retards.
They better not pass this thing, otherwise there's going to be an extreme uproar.
I mean, to even think of it in the first place is just plain stupid!
I, personally, would not want something that I worked on and waited for for hours to get published on some clothing, or in a magazine, and others get paid for it.
That's just not right.
I mean, if the people would just ASK the original artist, and then give credit and profit to the artist, then that, to me, would be cool.
But, no.
People who take our work are to fucking lazy and self centered to do that in the first place.
They want their work done by someone else, so they can get the credit for it.
And if it goes the wrong way, the whole shit-in-a-bag will be LEGAL.
This better not go through.

Oi, guys and ladies.
I need help.
I feel very discouraged to make any more Fractals.
Or even take pictures.
Or make music.
Or videos.
Jeez.

I talked to ~hellfirequeen [:iconhellfirequeen:] earlier about it, and she said I should make more, because they're so good and whatnot.
Well...I don't really agree with her, but I really enjoy hers.
And she doesn't agree with me in the part of enjoying hers.
So.
Conclusion drawn from such a situation.
You're your own worst critic.

So, anyone who reads my journals, do you have any advice to go easier on yourself with your work, or is it just something you have to do and like?
Or take it as a challenge to do better?
I don't know.
I'd like to make more art, but it just doesn't feel as if I do as well anymore.

...Got Freetime?

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 14, 2008, 8:10 PM
Alright...I wont lie, I'm gonna ask for something, and I don't exactly have anything to give, like a subscription or something like that, because I'm lame like that.
It's only if you're willing to do so, and if you have the free time, I'll explain what I'm talking about.

Alright, in about September, I'm going to go and get a tattoo.
I have an idea, but I can't really make things off the top of my head and draw it AT ALL.
I'm more of a look and copy type of guy. Not trace, copy. Don't get me wrong.

ANYWAYS.
I need to put my idea together for this tattoo.
I know where I want, and what I want on it, but I can't put the ideas together.

So, I want it on my upper back, like, shoulder blades.
And I want dragon wings.
I LOVE dragons.
The wings, I think would be cool, if they seem kinda...smooth, almost.
Maybe a bit tattered and worn, but smooth.
Not sharp things...I dunno.
I just love dragons.
Anywho, and besides that, I want the Cancer symbol.
Yeah, yeah, NOT the crab.
I want the other one. The one that everyone misconstrues for the 69 symbol.
IT'S NOT 69!! It's sideways...
...And, if you can fit it in there, an upside-down triangle. That represents "water" by the way.

...I know there might be a few more things in there, like a quote or a date or something, but for now, that what I have for an idea.

*EDIT*
And maybe can you maybe try to make the cancer symbol look like a yin-yang?

If there was going to be a quote, it would be "You Cannot Stop The Wheels Of Fate, You Can Only Change The Way They Turn." ... lol, or maybe something else. Just an idea. I love quotes! ^.^

Also, if there was going to be a date, it's gonna be 5/31/07

Settings...

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 4, 2007, 9:14 PM
Okay, I know the more advanced users like DragonWinter and such aren't watching me, but, I'd like to know what setting you use on Apophysis.
Like...not resolution, but, quality...if you use multithreading and if you have the 64-bit buffer depth and whatnot.

Yeah...I'd just like to know.
I got some stuff, but it just doesn't look as good as it could I think.

So, the more specific you can get, that would be freaking sweet.
Thanks people!
